One such piece titled “Baffled,” choreographed by fourth-year dance major Nancy Rivera, was meant to represent the often out of control thoughts inside a person’s head.
Rivera said the dancers’ fast, asynchronous movements across the stage were meant to be symbolic of the erratic ideas someone might struggle to tame.

BAFFLED an original work of Nancy Rivera which premiered for the first time at the Martha B. Knoebel Stage. She explores the power that the mind has in our lives and how overwhelming can be when there is no clarity to be found within the thoughts and ideas that arouse in the daily. One can get lost in its own thinking and forget how to be present, how to be at peace with ourselves. She plays with perceptions of reality using shadows and introduces a whole set of visual effects done with lighting in motion.

FOCUS "These times are like solving a puzzle, a puzzle of myself, of my life, of my aspirations, of my priorities. This work is inspired by the lack of creativity I have been facing over this time. The struggle for my mind to focus on the positive, and the challenge of understanding myself while spending these times alone. Focusing is something with two faces, the good and the bad, so which one are you focus on?"
